Vue cinemas are to start doing over-18 only screenings of under-18 films, the adult equivalent of toddler screenings.
No more putting up with parents too lazy or cheap to get a baby-sitter dragging their kids bored and confused 5 year-olds to 12As. No more teenagers tittering through 15s. The chance to see Pixar films without screaming, crying, whinging children.
Yeh!
Let's hope Cineworld, Odeon etc follow suit.

great news. have to say i don't mind kids in pixar stuff -- it's churlish to object to them in that sort of situation i think given the movie is aimed at them. but soderberghh's solaris was wrecked for me -- yeah, i liked it! - by a dad who patently had custody of his kids for the w/end and just let them run up and down the aisle throughout. i just try to do afternoon midweek screenings just before the film is about to end its run. unless it's a real biggie, you'll be lucky to get more than 30 people in a 500-seater.
The one that sticks in my mind is a dad with a five-ish year old in Meet The Fockers. A - wouldn't the clue be in the title that the humour won't be suitable for a 5-year-old? B - the trailering included House Of Wax which scared the bejesus out of the child. C - every joke that made people laugh was cause for "Daddy, what does that mean#what's going on/who's he" question! Aargh!
